Mr. Ogallo is a career administrator with solid credentials and a track record of public service spanning over thirty three years. His appointment as the Commissioner General of Prisons (CGP), Kenya in March 2018 capped an illustrious career that began in 1985 as a District Officer in the Office of the President with a stint of tour of duty all over the Republic. Prior to his appointment as the CGP, he was the Secretary National Government Coordination at the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts( Hons) degree from the University of Nairobi in 1985, Masters in Public Policy and Administration from Kenyatta University in 2014 and has undertaken a series of professional courses in security management, administration and management. Since taking over office as the CGP, has contributed immensely to the reorganization and professionalization of the Service through the clarion call for the Prisons Service as envisaged thereby shaping the role of Kenya Prisons Service and its purpose in delivering a just and secure Nation. He is a persuasive communicator with proven abilities in building teams that has since intensified the Prisons collaboration with both State and Non- State actors in the criminal justice sector in the development of common approaches to the matter of penal reform so that these noble tendencies find concrete expressions.
